In the “beginning” of the internet it was not easy to publish translations of the Stabat Mater in foreign languages with a foreign alphabet or characters. Hans used to put these translations to his site as a picture of the text. In the past the Russian translation was only a picture. In this way the text could be read by every visitor all over the world. When Hans got the Gaelic translation, he published a picture of the Irish text.
Hans’ grandson, Cian was born in the Netherlands, but when he was three years old he moved with his family to Ireland. He had his education in Ireland. This summer he is staying with me for some weeks and I asked him if he could make a proper text of the Gaelic translation. He did! Thanks Cian. I am grateful and I am sure Hans would be too. The new one, you can see here.
