 About the Stabat Mater

Date 1965
Performers Soprano, Tenor, Alto, Bass, Choir and Orchestra
Length 32.46 minutes
Particulars He composed the Stabat Mater in 1965 and in 1968 he finished his Requiem. František Xaver Thuri: "I wrote both works in the baroque style that has been my inspiration and muse throughout my entire life. In spite if the gravity of the themes, there is not only sorrow and despair in the music, but there are also - I hope - echoes of the joyful Christian belief in the higher meaning of human existence". The work is divided into twelve sections.
Textual variations As far as I can hear the "Analecta"- version of the text is used.
