About the composer
Trond Kverno was born in Oslo, Norway, in 1945. He studied at the Oslo
Conservatory of Music, where he graduated in church music, music theory and
choir direction. He was a teacher, and from 1994 professor in church music, at
the Norwegian State Academy of Music where he focussed on liturgical organ
playing and composition for use in church services. He likes to compose for the
congregation, where the singers have no musical expertise. 27 of his hymns were
included in the Norwegian Hymn Book of 1983.
