Pietro Antonio Fiocco

About the composer
Pietro Antonio Fiocco (1650 - 1714) was born in Venice, Italy. In 1681 he went to Brussels, Belgium, where he married and stayed for the rest of his life. He became Maitre de musique of the Ducal Chapel in 1687 and of the St.Goedele cathedral in 1696, holding the latter function until his death.

Particulars The work is divided into twelf parts, in which we can see a repetition as the stanzas from the first half are being repeated in the second half.
Textual variations The "Analecta"-version of the text is used, with one change:
- Stanza 16, line 2: not "Passionis eius sortem" but "Passionis fac consortem"
