About the composer
Not more is known about the composer than his name and the fact that he lived in the eighteenth century. The sheet music of the composition was found in the musical archives of the Schwarzenberg family of Czechia.

Particulars The composition is divided into 9 parts, varying from 1 to 5 stanzas. The first soprano aria is accompanied by a solo-violin and continuo. The final choral "Amen" is a small fugue, as is stanza 15. The text is sung completely, with the exception of the third line of stanza 9, which is omitted.
Textual variations The text according to "Analecta" is used, but with following changes:
- Stanza 4, line 2: not "Et tremebat cum videbat" but "Piam Mater, dum videbat"
- Stanza 6, line 2: not "Piam Matrem" but "Christi Matrem"
- Stanza 16, line 2: not "Passionis eius sortem" but "Passionis fac consortem"
- Stanza 19, lines 1 and 2: not "custodiri, praemuniri" but "custodixi, praemunixi"
